Is TIAA-CREF the same as TIAA?
Not as a universal statement. TIAA-CREF was the public-facing brand until 2016, while TIAA is the current shorter brand. The hyphenated wording also remains in some legal-entity names, and CREF continues as a separate companion organization.
Does CREF still exist?
Yes. TIAA’s current public privacy notice identifies College Retirement Equities Fund as an investment company and companion organization to TIAA.
Is Nuveen part of TIAA?
Nuveen is in the TIAA corporate family, and TIAA is its parent company. Nuveen is not merely another spelling of TIAA.
Is TIAA Traditional the same as TIAA?
No. TIAA Traditional is a fixed-annuity product name; TIAA can refer to the broader brand, corporate family or issuer depending on context.
Is a retirement plan the same as a contract?
Not generally. They are related structural labels that can appear in the same arrangement, but exact meanings depend on plan documents and product type.
Is Mamscleaningservice affiliated with TIAA?
No. Mamscleaningservice is an independent educational publisher and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of TIAA, CREF or Nuveen.
